Hello, I am Johanna Thomas. I'm currently enrolled in my last two courses towards my MST in Adolescent Mathematics. Math has always been my favorite subject, leading me to pursue a Masters of Engineering at Cornell University. After a couple of years working as an electrical engineer at Pitney Bowes, I moved to the city and worked as an IT consultant with Gemini Systems. During this time, I designed custom software for a variety of companies. Since then, I have been lucky enough to spend the past nine years as a full-time mom to my two kids: Connor (12) and Amber (9). Through them, I have had a lot of exposure to schools and teachers, and decided that being a teacher appealed to me. Which is what brings me here today...

I just started student teaching at Croton Harmon HS in northern Westchester and will most likely be teaching Algebra to 9th graders and Algebra 2 and Trigonometry to 9th and 10th graders.

Some of my favorite activities are crafting, dancing, and reading. I love spending time with my family. Together we enjoy traveling, skiing, climbing, and recently my husband and I became a certified scuba divers.
